This immersive expedition combines hands-on wilderness medicine training, whitewater rafting on the Pacuare River, and guided exploration of one of the most biodiverse rainforest ecosystems in the world.
Participants raft into the remote Ríos Lodge, engage in practical medical training and rescue skills, and take part in curated rainforest and conservation experiences.

Travel essentials
Arrive at San José International Airport (SJO) on November 2, 2026. Registration includes two double-occupancy hotel nights at DoubleTree by Hilton Cariari San José: your arrival night and one return night before your planned flight home.
- Regular itinerary: leave Ríos Lodge and stay at the hotel November 6; fly home November 7.
- Extended + guide training: leave the lodge and stay at the hotel November 7; fly home November 8.
- Included transport: shared airport/hotel shuttles and scheduled hotel/river/lodge transfers in both directions, returning to the same hotel.
- Included meals: lodge meals and hotel breakfasts. Other meals in San José are at your own expense.
Plan to fly home the day after you leave the lodge. Extra hotel nights, private transfers and individual changes are only included if specifically agreed.
