Capt J. “Pearce” Beissinger, MS, PA-C, DiMM
Pearce is a board-certified physician assistant. He graduated from Florida State University and completed further studies at Yale University. He then received his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Arcadia University. Following an initial practice focus in orthopedic surgery, Pearce transitioned to being a cardiothoracic surgical physician assistant while working at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire. He was a clinical instructor at Dartmouth Medical School.
His career journey brought Pearce & family to Portland, OR where he continued to be involved with academic medicine and teaching physician assistant students. He is proficient in endoscopic saphenous vein harvesting, radial artery harvesting, and multiple critical care interventions. After earning a certificate in added qualification(CAQ) for emergency medicine, he transitioned his career to the ED where his accumulated skill set continues to serve patients at their time of need. Pearce is an instructor in Advanced Cardiac Life Support(ACLS), Tactical Combat Casualty Care(TCCC) & Wilderness Medicine (DiMM).
Outside of the hospital, Pearce is involved with church ministry and enjoys rowing, cycling, ice climbing and mountaineering. While also serving as a Captain in the Air Force-Virginia Air National Guard, he has dedicated decades of service to technical mountain rescue teams. His greatest adventure and most rewarding pursuit has been enjoying the blessings of his wife, Heather, and two children: Micah and Jonah.
